Sting before The Police

Before becoming lead singer of the band The Police, Sting was a school teacher at St Paul's Roman Catholic First School in Cramlington, England. Before joining The Police, he was in many Jazz bands like the Phoenix Jazz Band, the Newcastle big band, Last Exit and others.

His real name

Gordon Matthew Sumner and he hates that we call him like this, pay attention to that!

Why Sting like nickname ? 

One day, Sting came to a rehearsal in a striped soccer sweater and the trombone player, Gordon Solomon, remarked that Sting looked like a bee. This led to him being called “Sting”.

He was born in Wallsend, Northumberland on October 2, 1951.

We can say so many!! He plays: guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, piano, drums, harmonica, mandolin, pan flute, lute.
